I've been working on this pencil sharpener for quite some time now. It's not that the penil sharpener was broken, but rather that it wasn't working to the best of it's ability. So another student (Drew Lantinga) and I began to take it apart and experiement with it. Learning the way that it worked and how it was powered.

1. Have any of your art skills improved this semester?
Yes, I believe that a few of my art skills have improved over this semester. I learned how to paper mache and how time consuming and tedious it can be. And I also learned how to make noodle art (Shrek's Outhouse) 2. Did you learn any new skills? Yes, I learned how to paper mache and how to solder 3. Is ther anything you could have done to improve? Yes, Tim and I began part of the year working on our Rube Goldberg Project. We had a good start creating multiple parts that would all work together, but after awhile we both grew tired of the project, and strayed away from it. I believe that I could improve my ability to stay one task. I came up with the idea make Solder Man one day when Mrs. Neson told us that solder was only to be used for stain glass. I did ask her if I could and she told me if I used scrap and I had an idea of what I was going to do in my head. It was quite difficult to make his arms and legs because solder likes to ball up and stick together instead of being stretched out. In the end Solder Man came to be a sword weilding knight.
For the past two weeks Tim Minier and I have been working together on a Rube-Goldberg Machine. A Rube-Goldberg Machine is a large group of different machines and mechanisms put together in order to achieve a simple task such as cracking an egg or flipping a switch. The goal of our machine is yet to be determined, but the final outcome should be fun.
This past week we created Shrek's Outhouse out of noodles. Originally we tried to create a house out of noodles, but midway through our build we decided to switch to Shrek's Outhouse. Mostly because everyone was telling us that's what it looked like.
